5-Speed Gearboxes for E-type, XK Cars, MkII, MkV, 3.8 & XJ6
E-Torque is the US distributor for the Guy Broad 5-Speed gearboxes made in the UK. These units are extremely popular and have been used in classic Jaguars for the past 17 years. They are strong and reliable units and fit the small tunnel of the E-type without any sheet metal modifications.
This gearbox is based upon the very reliable, Ford MT-75 gearbox. It even has synchromesh in reverse! It has a custom tail shaft housing that adapts the unit to all classic Jaguar cars. Unlike other adapted gearboxes for classic Jaguars, this unit has an untarnished reputation for excellence. Before you buy any adapted gearbox, you should do some searches to learn from the experience of others. We regularly get calls from people who have to change their new 5-speed gearboxes after only 3,500 miles for one that does not break, whine or grind!
These gearboxes bolt to the original Jaguar bell housing, and when installed, the gearshift is exactly in the same place as it was with the original gearbox. E-Torque custom orders these gearboxes per application. They can fit anything from a Six Cylinder Series I E-type to a V12 Series III E-type. They also fit most Jaguar sedans such as the 3.8, the Mk II, Mk V, Mk VII, the XK 120, 140 & 150 and even the XJ6 and XJ12.
Each gearbox comes in a kit, which includes all items needed to install the gearbox in your Jaguar. You will receive the gearbox, a new speedo cable, a shifter, bracketry, hardware, a clutch friction disk and a custom prop shaft for the specific vehicle.
Delivery on these units is typically from 60 - 90 days depending on the production rate at the factory.
